LGBTQ elected officials continue their advance nationwide as sexual minorities keep gaining more acceptance from the general public. Almost every state (except Mississippi) now has an openly gay person elected in some capacity which even includes 2 governors. These advancements are important for visibility to help advance overall equality for the LGBTQ Americans. Next stop-the White House!
