“With Russia enduring its worst wave of the pandemic, setting grim records in daily cases and deaths, Moscow announced a lockdown Thursday — a move the Kremlin had previously said it would avoid at all costs.
Russia joins other countries grappling how to reintroduce restrictions after doing away with nearly all of them. Public health experts in Britain, for example, are calling on the government to bring back some restrictions as cases climb despite the country’s high vaccination rate.”
Vaccines work remarkable well and need to be effectively disseminated to as many people as possible to stop the deadly Covid epidemic. Unfortunately, some nations continue to experience wave after wave of the virus due to ineffective vaccine rollouts or early success in the pandemic that lulls the general public into a sense of complacency. Whatever the case may be, it is extremely important to discover best practices that encourage enough people to get the shot to establish a herd immunity.
