Marco Rubio Clings To Trump In Hopes Of Fending Off An Ivanka Primary Challenge.
Marco Rubio, in a transparent attempt to appeal to Trump’s die hard supporters who will come out in force to vote against anyone they view as anti-Trump, will not vote to convict Trump.
“Trump has been impeached for inciting the riot at the Capitol aimed at overturning a free and fair democratic election. But holding him accountable through a trial is both stupid and “counterproductive,” the Florida senator insisted, adding, “The first chance I get to vote to end this trial, I’ll do it because I think it’s really bad for America.”

Donald Trump will have broad appeal in his adopted home state of Florida and if Ivanka wants to run for Senate then the primary will be handed to her on a silver platter. Senator Rubio’s only hope is to try and brown nose up to the first family of Mara Lago in hopes they will have mercy on him and not throw their hats in the ring of the US Senate race. Senator Rubio wouldn’t stand a chance and has to kiss the ring of the mighty emperor of Palm Beach to save his political career. The political landscape is obviously very different now after the Capitol insurrection but as Trump’s political career has careened off the tracks he has been able to somehow marshal all of his dwindling GOP clout to stop a Senate conviction.
