Marriage Equality Now Enshrined In The Nevada Constitution.

By passing Question 2, Nevada voters removed an inactive same-sex marriage ban from the state constitution. The measure’s passage comes two decades after the electorate voted to add the ban to the constitution and ensures same-sex marriage will remain state law even if a future U.S. Supreme Court overturns its 2015 decision legalizing it throughout the country.

Sort of a way to ensure that equity lasts even though administrations and court rulings are always evolving and may not necessarily arch towards equality. Hopefully this will lead other states to adopt similar amendments as a way to fully integrate all people into society and limiting ways that peoples’ rights can be voted away.
