Justice Ginsburg resisted the calls to step down during the years when President Obama could have picked her replacement.

Justice Ginsburg certainly did things her way and was a wonderful jurist who fought for what she thought was right. She will be forever missed. A little sad here that she didn’t allow President Obama to pick her successor, well, a lot sad. But she was never going to do something she did not want to do and that was leave the Court before she was good and ready. Now it is up to us to live with whatever happens next and to continue the fight as she would have wanted and never back down in the face of adversity.
