When more people come out of the closet then acceptance grows and laws are changed. That is what we have seen as a nation for the past 50 years some years since the first Pride marches in New York City. The greater the acceptance by the public, in both opinion and laws, the more people feel comfortable divulging their sexual orientation to their friends, family and colleagues. This makes for a better society and a more equal society.
