The MAGA riot and insurrection will always be remembered as one of the most unfortunate episodes in American history. An event that could have toppled American democracy if it succeeded. The American president was hoping it did just that, toppled the system that rejected him and enthrone him as the dictator in chief. The GOP has an opportunity to reject Trump’s treasonous behavior but the Mar Lago maniac still controls vast swaths the Republican Party and therefore his behavior will likely go unpunished.
