Biden and Xi Restore Military Ties In A Sign Of De-Escalation.
“SAN FRANCISCO — President Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping agreed on Wednesday to restore communications between their countries’ militaries after they met face-to-face for the first time in a year, lowering tensions between the two superpowers at a time when the White House is struggling to manage wars in Europe and the Middle East.”
China has been on an upward trajectory for 3 decades under a series of leaders that ushered it into the 21st century. Extraordinary economic expansion lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and to the cusp of a developed nation on par with the West and Japan. During the rise a mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship developed with America that became integral to each nations economic fortunes. But tensions have been rising exponentially and America has been seeking other dance partners to provide raw materials and cheap plastic goods. China wants to make sure it stays in the game now that its economy has hit stumbling blocks and is investing in its relationship with America.
