Voting Will Be More Difficult As The Right Seeks To Limit Ways To Vote.
In a continued fight by Republicans to ensure fewer and fewer people vote with the backdrop of a President indicating he won’t acceptance the results, the election will be a chaotic mess. (Washington Post)
“Last week, the Supreme Court sided with Republicans in South Carolina and said that mail-in ballots have to be signed by a witness, a requirement that in a time of a pandemic is more burdensome than normal. The requirement was not in place during the state’s primary due to considerations related to the coronavirus, and an appellate court had agreed that it need not be in place for the general election. The high court made one exception to its decision reinstituting the witness requirement, saying that ballots already cast without a witness’s signature would be valid.”
Voting rights in the battleground states are coming under unprecedented attacks with ballot boxes being removed from Texas to Pennsylvania in hopes that fewer people, especially fewer black and brown people are able to cast a vote. The onslaught of pressure on voting rights has been fast and furious in hopes to tip the electoral outcome on November 3rd. I hope iris scan internet voting will be here soon! Republicans would not agree as they simply can’t have more ballots cast if they hope to win because Democrats far outnumber Republicans.
