The pardons are one of several items Trump must complete before his presidency ends in days. White House officials also still have executive orders prepared, and the President is still hopeful to declassify information related to the Russia probe before he leaves office. The pardon list that will be made public tomorrow will undoubtedly have more than a few surprises with more of Trump’s cronies getting off scotch free. If Trump does plan to pardon himself it is top secret due to the leak prone nature of his administration. Sadly, no one who truly deserves a pardon will get one and Trump’s pardon power will be used to pay back favors or discredit investigations that targeted him.
