The milestone is the latest tragic reminder of the unrelenting nature of the pandemic even as people are shedding masks, travel is resuming and businesses are reopening around the globe.
The last million deaths were recorded over the last four months, according to the tally compiled by Johns Hopkins University.”
The World’s attention is now centered on the people of Ukraine and their plight at the same time as the grim milestone of 6 millions Covid-19 deaths was reached. The pandemic appears to be nearing an end or at least in a lengthy lull that should enable countries to regroup and hopefully administer as many vaccines as possible to the general public. Scientists and physicians across the globe are hopeful that if the virus does mutate and come roaring back it will be in a form that the current vaccines can still protect against.
