Gov. Cuomo Apologizes For The ‘Void’ In Nursing Home Covid-19 Information.
Governor Cuomo, in a tearful appearance, apologized for what he could have done differently regarding nursing homes and Covid-19.
“The governor, who seemed far more morose than usual and choked up several times, did say he was sorry his administration did not prioritize the release of complete information about the spread of Covid-19 in nursing facilities. He repeatedly said that inaction created a “void” of accurate information that was filled by political opponents.
”
The decision to allow nursing homes to accept patients suffering with Covid-19 and then shield the repercussions of that decision was poorly conceived. The more transparency the better when the public faces a national crisis. The public is currently in a massive state of distrust when it comes to national leaders and institutions and these actions do nothing to engender the sort of faith that needs to be instilled for a functioning democracy to continue.
