Dems Fear Red Wave In The House.
Republican voters appear to have superior levels of enthusiasm when it come to getting to the pols this November and that could be troublesome for Democrats as the cling to Congressional majorities.
“The midterm elections are less than two weeks away, and campaigns are scrambling to make last-minute pitches to voters as Election Day nears.
The nonpartisan Cook Political Report with Amy Walter on Tuesday increased its outlook for House GOP gains from 10 to 20 seats to 12 to 25 seats as Democrats’ blue state problems expanded. The GOP needs five seats to flip the House, and a new NBC News poll shows 78 percent of Republicans have a high interest in voting in the midterms, compared with 69 percent of Democrats.”
The midterm elections are always a referendum on the person who is occupying the White House and the job they are doing. This election will be no different but what is different is the dramatic way the World has changed in many meaningful ways since the start of the pandemic 2.5 years ago. Inflation being the most pertinent and pressing issue that law makers are grappling with is proving to be far more intractable than anyone imagined. Of course, the higher prices are leaving many Americans with less money and causing widespread pessimism which does not bode well for the party in power.
