Mitch McConnell Believes In Democracy After All.

Senate Majority Leader finally acknowledges Joe Biden as the President Elect. (NY Times)

Senator Mitch McConnell
Many of us hoped that the presidential election would yield a different result, but our system of government has processes to determine who will be sworn in on Jan. 20,” Mr. McConnell said in a speech on the Senate floor. “The Electoral College has spoken. So today, I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden.”

Finally the GOP is no longer circling the wagons around their dear leader and acknowledging that we live in a Democracy that is bigger than any 1 person regardless of the enigmatic hold he has on his followers. Mean Tweets aimed at the Senate Majority Leader will inevitably ensue. Now that Trump must be coming to terms with the fact the White House is only his residence for another month, everyone expects him to use every power in his Presidential arsenal to benefit himself and his allies through pardons and executive orders. It could get a little scary.
