Without swift action, the crisis at the Postal Service threatens to become dire. On shop room floors in Cleveland and Detroit, employees have voiced concerns that stacks of mail block emergency exits, according to workers who spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid retribution. Staffers have to shove crates of mail out of the way to clear narrow walkways.
In Toledo, facilities are three weeks behind, said Jennifer Lemke, the clerk craft director at American Postal Workers Union Local 170 in northern Ohio.

The destruction of the USPS would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. But under President Trump every norm and stable American institution was thrown into a state of flux from which they are not trying to recover. The USPS is a seminole American organization that has been taken for granted for a generation and it now must be saved. President Trump and his enablers tried their best to hobble the organization ahead of the tidal wave of Democratic ballots cast in the 2020 election. Thankfully, it delivered the ballots on time, the Christmas rush was another story however.
