Senator Josh Hawley and Senator Cruz among others could not shake the story they made up in their minds and reinforced in the right wing media echo chamber of the ‘stolen election fraud’. They had no intention of trying to think about their rhetoric and its consequences which in this case resulted in the deaths of 5 people during the treasonous riot on January 6th. The promulgators of the ‘fraud’ lie were receiving far too much positive Breitbart/Fox News coverage to back down and admit the truth to their constituents which would have labeled them heretics on the right. There is no clear path back from the abyss for the riot instigators especially considering the big donor GOP money spigots have run dry.
