Britain unfortunately now has 1 death that can be attributed to the new Omicron variant. The first reports indicated this variant is not as lethal as previous strains, and that may still prove to be true. On the brighter side, the vaccines appear to be holding their own against the strain once the booster shot is administered. It is now important to continue ensuring as many people as possible get vaccinated with vaccine equity access in the developing world.
