Quick End To Government Shutdown On Ice.

Republican lawmakers are battling each other over what reforms to make to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agencies as the House gets set to vote on legislation to end a partial government shutdown triggered by the deaths of two U.S. citizens in Minneapolis.  

The House is expected to vote Tuesday on legislation approved by the Senate at the end of last week, after Democrats in the lower chamber said they would not agree to provide the votes for the measure to pass under suspension of House rules. That would have required a two-thirds majority vote. by Alexander Bolton ‘The Hill’


The politics of shutdown were just here and are now back once again if not in the full fledged shutdown mode of last Fall. The killings of 2 people in Minnesota have greatly aggravated the ability to find funding votes for DHS as most in the nation blame excessive force for the killings. The Administration is still grappling with how to address the fraught situation that has enflamed and national mood.
