Zelensky In DC.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is in Washington ready to meet America’s power brokers in his quest to fend off the Russian invasion.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to visit President Biden at the White House and deliver a prime-time address to Congress on Wednesday as part of a dramatic trip aimed at underscoring U.S. support in the face of continued aggression by Russia. It is Zelensky’s first trip outside Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February.

At the meeting, Biden is expected to announce a new $1.85 billion security assistance package, which people familiar with the plans say includes the Patriot missile system, the most advanced air defense weapon in the American arsenal and one of Ukraine’s top requests. Zelensky’s appearance before lawmakers comes as they work to pass a $1.7 trillion spending package, which includes $44.9 billion in emergency and economic assistance for Ukraine.

President Zelensky is in the America’s Capital to ensure aid in the form of money and weapons continues unabated as a dangerous Winter sets in over The Ukraine. Vladimir Putin appears to be in the fight for the long run and the invasion of Ukraine is quickly turning into a war of attrition. Russia is still able to sell its oil and natural gas to fund the war because the rest of the World needs their fossil fuels despite efforts to wean off the Kremlin’s supply.
