Italy Finds Escaping The Coronavirus Very Elusive.

Italy is again in lockdown as the Coronavirus once again ravages the country. (Washington Post)

Italien Peninsula
This was supposed to be the point when Europe had beaten back the virus, allowing a return to semi-normalcy for Catholicism’s holiest week. But Italy, like much of Europe, is still besieged by infections, and the Easter mood this year feels nowhere near celebratory. Whether through lockdowns, sickness or canceled church ceremonies, the pandemic is still finding ways to interfere.

Vaccines are the only way to eradicate the Coronavirus from our planet. Tragically, Italy and much of Europe effectuated a dismal vaccination effort and the tragic affects are apparent in their repeated lockdowns. The European public is exasperated and ready to move on, unfortunately there is no clear path out of the Coronavirus wilderness without broad and effective efforts to vaccinate the general public. America now is seeing some faint light at the end of the tunnel and is hoping for a summer that is far more normal. Let’s hope this continues.
