A far cry from the 2nd Depression predicted by many a year ago, the nation’s economy is roaring back with record hiring. Unfortunately, the only thing holding back economic growth is a drastic shortage of workers. The post pandemic hiring spree is butting up against an opioid epidemic that killed scores of young working age people all across the nation and hit certain areas particularly hard. A country with more jobs than workers is a much better problem to have then the other way around but the limits on growth this is causing are being felt from coast to coast.
