Clarence Thomas Says Progressives Are Ruining America.
Thomas also said he believes many people no longer believe “all men are created equal” and deserving of “unalienable rights” protected by a limited government.
“[Progressivism] holds that our rights and our dignities come not from God, but from government,” he said. “It requires of the people a subservience and weakness incompatible with a constitution premised on the transcendent origin of our rights.”
The 77-year-old justice was appointed by Republican President George H.W. Bush in 1991 and is one of the longest-serving justices in history. He is a staunch conservative and has been a reliable vote in favor of the Trump administration's positions in cases. Devin Dwyer, ABC News
Progressive have caught the ire of Right Wing America for more than 60 years coming into focus in the the 1960s with the counter culture revolution. The suspicion dates further back however to the Red Scare of the 1950s McCarthy Era and the failed effort to root out people with a more progressive views of what America should look like. Justices Scalia, Thomas and Alito have always been disgusted with the presence of a more Left Wing America especially when policies are enacted through the Democratic process enshrining their ‘out of touch’ ideas and notions.
