Gavin Newsom has tried to gain national traction in the past only to fizzle a short while later. He is hoping that his charm and wit are able to land as a viable alternative to Donald Trump in minds of the broader electorate that just never really warmed up to him. Newsom had a Covid scandal that did not help but that seems to be like another lifetime ago and almost meaningless at at this point in American politics. An big brash anti-Donald Trump has yet to emerge from the political arena, but many hope its a guy named Gavin.
