GOP Post Verdict War Path Comes Into View.
“Congressional Republicans returned to Washington this week doubling down on their defense of former president Donald Trump after his conviction on 34 counts related to falsifying business records.
Releasing a flurry of initial reactions in the hours after a New York jury deemed Trump a felon last week, his staunchest supporters are focusing on what they allege is a weaponized justice system by ramping up House investigations and stalling regular business in the Democratic-led Senate.”
The GOP is leading the charge after what they view was an unjust verdict was handed down in a New York Courtroom. The party of law and order has never come to terms with the fact their candidate is not a man of law or order and relishes chaos at every turn. Many in the party routinely jump through hoops to try and fit Donald Trump into a neat religious law abiding kind of guy but to many on the outside that seems like a fools errand. Regardless, they will now move mountains to ensure retribution is administered on whomever they view as standing in former President Trump’s way.
