The humble beginnings of President Carter was in stark contrast to the manner in which hew as laid to rest in the Nation’s capitol. The outsider from Georgia rose to the highest echelons of America’s power structure as a one term president. Most agree his greatest achievements occurred after he left the White House and lived a life defined by service and to his fellow human beings through organizations like Habitat for Humanity. He should and can be a model for all Americans to give back always and forever.
