A rare blod clot disorder in 6 women has caused the Federal Government to halt anymore Johnson and Johnson vaccines from being administered. (NY Times)

The government was right to halt the vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson after the blood clots were reported in 6 people. Hopefully this will not work as a deterrent to the hundred million or so Americans who still need to get vaccinate in order to achieve herd immunity. Undoubtedly the anti-science vaccine deniers will run with this news and disseminate their usual falsehoods about the effectiveness and safety of vaccines over all. It’s up to the government to counter with a narrative that convinces the American public of the safety and necessity of vaccines to finally halt this pandemic.
