I simply find it amazing that the 40% approval rating has not budged even as the article points out- a raging pandemic is happening that could have largely been avoided if we had competent leadership in Washington. Which means that his appeal transcends the normal politician rapport with his supporters and many, I think, feel he is a father figure to them and they want him to deeply care about them and the seek his approval.
