Rural America voted for Trump in 2016 and even more decisively in 2020. (Politico)

Looking back at Presidential electoral maps from 20-25 years ago, I am amazed at the number of states in the deep red rural South that still voted Democrat for President. This election saw a bit of turning point with Georgia coming back into the Democratic fold if only by 10 thousand or so votes. 10-15 years ago that would have been nothing more than a pipe dream for the Dems but this year the Atlanta suburbs and African American women were the game changers.
