Abortion 1 Year Post ‘Roe’-Advantage Democrats.

The party’s 2022 midterm candidates suffered losses in critical swing states, causing many candidates to reassess their messaging on the issue.

So far, the 2024 Republican field has offered differing positions. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum have signed six-week abortion bans. But former President Trump, who played a consequential role in the overturning of Roe v. Wade, is taking a relatively evasive approach.

The divergent messaging comes as even members of the party urge fellow Republicans to moderate on abortion heading into 2024 or risk losing key elections.

The Evangelical movement in American was born out of opposition to Abortion rights and other ‘ills’ they thought plagued America. The wish finally came true long after many founders of the movement passed on but their torch bearers now must content with the pipe dream that came true. Americans are now more pro-choice than ever but elected officials in vast swaths of the nation are diametrically opposed to their constituents on this matter and keep voting against the populace. Even residents of the reddest states have voted to keep abortion protections in place but their please keeping falling on deaf ears and Republicans don’t know how to respond.
