Donald Trump’s 2016 election stunner sparked a global revolt. His 2024 triumph has been met with a weary shrug.

The Republican’s first win saw millions of political opponents protesting on the streets soon after the vote, organizing themselves with hashtags such as #Resist. Even among conservatives, it powered the Never Trump movement and belligerent anti-Trump groups like The Lincoln Project.
