“The United States now regularly sells out our allies under his leadership, the way he treats women, spends like a drunken sailor,” Sasse continued, adding that Trump “mocks evangelicals behind closed doors...has treated the presidency like a business opportunity” and has “flirted with white supremacists.”
It take a Republican Senator to perfectly frame the case against Donald Trump to get other Republicans to listen. I hope this sentiment on the right will form the groundwork in the future to thoroughly refute all things Trump and lead to the eventual realization that Trump was just a delusional person who somehow became the President. I don’t hold out much hope for this epiphany to be experienced by his die hard base but there is a small yet influential intellectual elite within the party that feels the same way about Trump but is afraid to speak out publicly…for now.
