Winds Whip Up So. Cal. Fires.
"This entire street is up in flames": Wind gusts spread fire across Pasadena neighborhood
From CNN's Andy Rose
As wind conditions worsen early Wednesday in communities pummeled by wildfires in and around Los Angeles, some neighborhoods already are seeing true devastation.
We’ve lost count of how many homes are burning right now. This entire street is up in flames.
Marc Cota-Robles, reporter with CNN affiliate KABC
The Upper Hastings Ranch community in Pasadena shortly after 4 a.m. was experiencing the worst wind gusts it had seen all night, the journalist reported from the scene.
Cota-Robles, who lives in another Pasadena community, had to evacuate his own family overnight, he said.
“The panels, the covers for the attic at my home, were blown off inside the house into the attic because of the wind up-gust into the house,” he said. “I have never experienced anything like that.”

The Wildfires ripping through Southern California are causing tons of havoc for scores of residents in the area. The fires are spreading quickly due to the fierce winds in the area that are complicating efforts to battle the blazes. As the Earth continues to get warmer and warmer the fires will continue to grow in intensity and duration making many fire prone areas of the nation uninsurable and uninhabitable dramatically altering the built environment and where people can call home.
