Donald Trump was always aware that the media/news cycle was his for the taking and harnessing that medium helped propel him into the White House in 2016, much to the delight of GOP. His media savvy skillset has not been diminished despite being voted out of office in 2020 and he needs them now more than ever considering his legal woes are coming to a head. His ability to command to the new cycle is no longer universally lauded by the GOP, and in fact, many in the party establishment wish he would quietly go far far away never to be heard from again. That will never happen.
