Israeli Chaos.

In one of the most pivotal and tumultuous days in Israel’s political history, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was considering on Monday whether to delay a divisive judicial overhaul that has set off civil unrest and prompted widespread strikes that have curtailed medical services and blocked flights from leaving Israel’s main airport.

Unrest broke out overnight in parts of Israel after Mr. Netanyahu fired his defense minister late Sunday for criticizing the overhaul, prompting demonstrators to surge into the streets, universities to shut their doors in protest at the judicial plan, and union leaders to announce a general strike

Political demonstrations are now embroiling many nations around the globe as unrest often spills out into the open and effects the lives of everyone. Inflation has caused much of the unrest in Europe and beyond but a right wing takeover of the judicial system in Israel appears to be the culprit that is causing the widespread demonstrations. This could be a symptom of more deeply rooted systemic problems in the country such as economic injustice but for now all eyes are on Netanyahu and his next moves to quell the strikes. Capitulation to the protesters does not appear to be on the table and the unrest will likely continue.
