Biden Not Going To Punish Saudi Prince For His Role In The Khashoggi Murder.

President Biden is not going to immediately punish the Saudi Arabian prince despite the fact he ordered the death of an American. (The Hill)

Mr. Khashoggi
The declassified report said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved a plot to “capture or kill” journalist and Saudi critic Jamal Khashoggi, who was lured to the Saudi consulate and killed. The report’s release raises the stakes on relations between the Biden administration and the likely next ruler of the Saudi Kingdom.

President Biden, like many president’s before has to balance international diplomacy, American interests, Middle East peace, and our need for oil. Our need for oil imports has been lessened in the last 5 years but we are still in the oil eco-system and need free flowing crude to stay in business and Saudi Arabia controls much of that that. We need Saudi Arabia, arch enemy of the trouble making Iran, to be on our side in an increasingly dangerous situation developing in the Middle East. All of those factors are weighing heavily on President Biden as he navigates this diplomatically fraught situation.
