Amazon Ramps Up Hiring At Unprecedented Pace.
With consumer purchasing rapidly moving to cyberspace, Amazon needs more boots on the ground. (NY Times)
Amazon’s tentacles reach everywhere and seem to dwarf the power and might of Wal Mart. In my hometown of Toledo, which I visited over the holiday, a massive new Amazon warehouse is rising on the ashes of a former mall that once occupied the space. The same thing is happening all over the country with the online behemoth constantly in search of large tracts of land to build their nondescript buildings thus ensuring everyone receives their products in 2 days. As the article points out, the more places Amazon does business the more its economic and political clout will be that more impressive. Don’t head to Wal Mart for small business Saturday just yet though:)
