The Senate: Trump’s Trial Is A Go.

The Senate voted to affirm the Constitutionality of Trump’s trial set to commence this week.

Donald Trump shrugging
The senators voted after a day of arguments, beginning with the House Democrats opening their case Tuesday to convict Trump of inciting an insurrection with a montage of harrowing scenes of violence wrought by the former president’s supporters during the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

The Senate Republicans predictably voted as a bloc rejecting the constitutionality of the trial that will proceed this week. The GOP is in a serious predicament regarding Donald’s Trump hallowed perch in the party and whether party leadership will allow him to maintain such an exalted status that inoculates him from all culpability. Most Republicans still live in fear of his retribution even though they don’t know what form that will take in the months and years to come with his social media lockout. One can only imagine the Tweets that would be pouring out of the man from Mara Lago if his baby rattle had not been snactched from his hand and silenced.
