Now Is Not The Time To Ease Up On Covid Restrictions.
A precipitous delicate in Coronavirus infections is not reason to ease up on mask mandates and gathering restrictions according to experts. (CNN)
“We should not ease up, allow indoor dining, big groups ... getting rid of mask mandates. We have to hold on for another two or three months in this condition,” said Dr. Zeke Emanuel, who was a health adviser for the Obama White House and was a member of the Biden Transition Covid-19 Advisory Board. “We’re still having on average 2,000 deaths a day. We cannot become inured to that.”

Letting our guard down would be disastrous for our ability to eradicate the Coronavirus. New and more contagious variants are emerging all the time and these new strains have the ability to spread rapidly thus erasing all the hard work that has been done so far to contain the virus. Political expediency cannot be more important than the public’s health when it comes to this deadly disease. Unfortunately, as winter turns to spring there is going to be more pressure to ease limits on gatherings which so far have proven very successful in stopping the spread.
