A truly monumental day for transgender visibility and acceptance as the Senate takes up Dr. Levine’s nomination. The more visibility and acceptance that national recognition like this inevitably garners, the more people will know that the transgender community is interwoven into the fabric of our society and transgender people have rights. Additionally, the public will start to recognize the contributions of the transgender community are immense and have contributed to a better world and society in general.
