Britain Eases Covid Restrictions.

Despite a rising Coronavirus case load, Britain will begin easing restrictions in the new few weeks. (NY Times)

British Flags in a row.
While cases in Britain have risen steeply in recent weeks, hospitalizations are rising more slowly, and deaths more slowly still. But hospitalizations doubled in the last week, England’s chief medical officer, Chris Whitty, said at the news conference, and admissions and deaths always lag behind case numbers. So there are lingering concerns among epidemiologists that those numbers, too, might begin to rise sharply in coming weeks.

Britain will begin easing their Covid social distancing restriction because vaccines work and keep people from getting dying. Without the vaccines that are being administered, there would not be a plausible way for a nation like England to begin easing restrictions, on the contrary, it would be headed back into lockdown status. The delta variant does give cause for concern but the ability to effectively fight the virus with the vaccine in the weapons arsenal should ease most peoples minds.
