The U.S. added 850,000 jobs in June, exceeding expectations as rising demand for a wide range of services disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic fueled the labor market, according to data released Friday by the Labor Department.

The economy continues to pick up steam as evidenced by the latest jobs report. The continued economic expansion precariously rests upon the vaccination efforts currently under way across the nation and the globe. If vaccine resistance individuals cause another Covid spike that will lead to lockdowns and economic unrest across broad swaths of the economy. The vaccines must be administered to at least 70% of the population if we have any hope of finally eliminating this deadly scourge.
